The Du Dong of Sanjiang is a remote Dong village with a large number of distinctive wood buildings. Moreover, it’s the most perfect Dong residence so far.
Here, you will sense the strong flavors of traditional folk cultures and its mysterious luster.

48 kilometers from Sanjiang it lies in the mountainous area on the verge of Guizhou, Hunan and Guangxi.
History
During the 1940s, this place was a center for guerilla action to fight against the Japanese.

By the bank of the river and at the foot of mountains, the Du Dong of Sangjiang is a typical Dong town with a population of approximately 45 thousand and 15 villages. Once coming, you will see numerous typical Dong buildings such as drum towers, wind and rain bridges, stockade villages and rice terraces and so on. All these architecture along with the attractive natural scenery surrounded forms a perfect landscape painting.
After appreciating the picturesque scenery here, tourists should never miss the delicious local food, among which, the oil tea is very popular. Since Dong People are fond of sour dishes, there’re a lot of such dishes such as sour fish. However, such dishes can not cater for all of us. In addition, you also have the chance to taste the sweet wine made by the local Dong People. The hospitable local people must make you at home.
